It is most gratifying to be back to a normal schedule. I do hope everyone is healing well, though it is best to move forward from such a horrifying incident, else the terrorists win. So stop your whining for the love of the Goddess...
I saw a younger student running through the halls earlier in nothing but their own skin. Understandably, emotions have been running high the past week, but I feel like perhaps this behavior is not the best outlet for dealing with the situation. I do hope someone clothed him before he got too far. Insolent children go to this school with me, I swear it.

I fear I may do something incredibly violent if I am not freed from this place for a little bit. If I have to hear one more person whine about being hurt or how awful it was, I might start eating first and asking questions later. Care to save me from myself?

I am so glad to have my father home again. Everyone who was supportive through that mess truly has my thanks. I just hope the Ministry has learned their lesson and doesn't make it a habit to apprehend innocent men and keep them from their families for five days at a time. Of course, I understand their position in wanting to make sure we are all safe, but there should be a bit more diligence used in the future before anyone is taken in.
That being said, I'm looking forward to our first Hogsmeade weekend. I know it's still a couple weeks away, but I'm already planning all the things I'd like to do. It's so refreshing to get away from the castle; especially with Halloween this month. I do enjoy all the parties and events that are associated with the holiday.

As much fun as I'm sure most of you think Quidditch is, let me remind you that indoors might not be the proper place for practice. Or a pick up game of toss, as it were. I understand we are all excited to see who gets chosen for the team, but if my reflexes had been any less then the quaffle being thrown in the common room would have hit me square in the face. And that would have been a grievous error, my friends. Need I remind you that we are supposed to be examples on how to behave?

I honestly don't know what has come over the professors recently. It's like we're back in primary school being forced into the sandbox with children we try to avoid playing with.
I can't decide how I feel about this date auction portion. I'm torn between ridiculousness and amusement. Either way, I'm glad nobody has signed me up against my will. It will be entertainment enough to simply watch. I don't need to be bought like cattle by someone unworthy.

This weekend has been rather trying. I am not going to add anymore fuel to the fire of rumors and outrage swirling through the halls. I will only say that I hope we can move forward as a school without continuing to try and kill one another.
With that being said, I have been having rather odd dreams. I typically don't remember them, so it's particularly intriguing that I have the past couple nights. Perhaps I need to have a more relaxing tea before bed from now on. I certainly don't fancy waking up constantly whenever a dream decides it's time.

I received a letter from home this morning during breakfast. Apparently mother and father are going on holiday early this year. They're not bringing myself and Audriana this time around, unfortunately. We have to wait until the actual holidays to take our own. She was writing so I wouldn't worry in case I owled them and didn't receive a response. I often wish I could just take off and go anywhere with only a moments notice. I suppose that's something to look forward to after I graduate.
She also mentioned that my cousin is getting married in December. I love weddings and am excited that she finally found a good match. Now I just have to wait anxiously for my own Hogsmede weekend so I can shop for a proper dress. I'm sure there are others around who might want to join me in my endeavor? Shopping is such good therapy for the homework blues, after all. |

It amazes me how hypocritical some can be, but I suppose nobody's perfect. I'm looking forward to seeing if Isabelle is right in predicting the rain will stop tonight. I have a good feeling she will be, since she almost always is. As much as rain can be fascinating, it's a bit too dreary for my tastes. I suppose it's good to hopefully get it out of the way now rather than on the first Hogsmede weekend, however.

I have never been a big sports fanatic myself, though I do enjoy watching Quidditch when I have the time, but this school truly baffles me when it comes to the sport sometimes. Maybe it's all the drama and tension going around that has everyone in a tizzy, but I am still at a loss as to what I just saw when I looked out the window.
A pair of maybe third years on their brooms. Wearing nothing but their knickers. With what appears to be house colored scarves on their heads. This place has really gone to the dogs.

The standards of this school seem decidedly lax as of late. I can't believe the things I've been seeing and hearing in the halls and courtyards. I understand things got off to a rocky start, but let's not forget how to behave shall we? It's not news to me that a lot of my peers didn't have the benefit of the upbringing I was lucky to enjoy, but that's no reason to forget the meanings of words like manners and class and respect.
I also wonder about the prefecture at times when I see second and third years running through the halls screaming profanities, or hear about how they stole the possessions of their housemates, or see a friend heading to the hospital wing as a result of physical violence. It is beyond me that these things continue without any reprimand whatsoever.
Of course, I'm sure the contrary parties will insist this behavior was justified. I assure you, harming another human being is a reaction that no justification supports. While our House is painted as villains to the rest of the school, I don't recall the last time someone I know physically harmed another student. It makes me very disappointed in my last year in this castle when things start off this way.
